How is tea an icon for different cultures?

Concept

Tea is a cultural an global practice that takes place in many ways, forms and places.

In this photo report, I explore the cultural differences when it comes to tea. As a form of documentary photography,

I selected three cultures that drink tea in different ways and for different purposes. In this case, the chosen ones were England, drinking tea traditionally; Mexico, drinking tea medicinally; and Argentina, drinking tea socially. Each session has a story and an art direction related to some cultural aspect of each country while keeping them tied.

FLOWERS ON WATER

Development

For example, England references the contrast between the elegant and polished culture with the chaos of punk culture, mixing both worlds through a universal tradition: tea time.

This photoshoot explores the variety in one simple thing, which goes on for more and more.
